A new low in our political ranks

For those who watched Insight on the 16th June, I am outraged by Amanda Vanstone's comments to an 82 year old woman who lives in Mosman and is on a pension and who questioned how the budget would impact on her and other pensioner's.

Amanda Vanstone's advice was to redraw (re borrow) on her house, which she owns, to sustain herself and would therefore not rely on a pension. Most people work hard, sometimes even working 2 or 3 jobs to improve their life and to better their offspring's capabilities of living at home. They have paid their taxes over the 40-50 years of work and now retirees are being given advice like this?

So what's the purpose of paying taxes if we still have to pay and suffer in the end?

It would be interesting to see how much of a role hardworking Australian's taxes paid for Amanda Vanstone's Consular role in Rome.

White collar crime indeed.
